DW Monday and Orca Bay Progress

This is where I am with Orca Bay.  I have had trouble getting enough sewing time to keep up.  My friend, Patti, and I had a private retreat at her house yesterday.  We sewed for 6 hours.  In that time I completed 10 brown string blocks, cut and sewed 55 HST for step 5 and completed all my Ohio stars.  I am really looking forward to seeing my quilt all together.  My fabric choices are seeming a little sketchy to me now.  Off white may have been a better choice.  We'll see.  It's been fun - labor intensive like all of Bonnie's quilts - but fun!

What have you been working on?
Hop over to Judy's blog and Bonnie's blog to see what others have been up to.

Hope the New Year is starting off well for each of you.

  1. I like your colors, and would very much like to see it put together. Carolyn/France

  2. You have some brown like me.
Are you noticing the geese/ string square rows are longer than the Ohio star/ geese rows?

  3. Love what you did with your colours. It will be good to see some of it together. Great job.

  4. Yours is going to be sooooo pretty, can't wait to see it all together.

  5. can't wait to see your top together.

  6. I'm JUST starting Orca Bay! VERY new to quilting so I've just finished getting all the triangles together and now need to finish a gown for someone else then can start the pressing and putting the hourglass squares together. PLUS I have to finish the scap box you did the tutorial for......yes, BH sent me here!!
