Design Wall Monday

The Husband has been hinting (if you can call outright whining a hint) that everyone has a quilt but him.  He's right, of course.  When I was at the Road to California in January I was struck by the graphic lines and sophisticated colors of this Cherrywood Fabrics kit.  It's not a large quilt because he only wanted one to hang in the conference room at his office.  This is what I was able to accomplish at our guild retreat a few weeks ago.

Do you realize that there are 49 (FORTY-NINE!) friggin' little circles on this quilt top??!!  Applique is not my friend.  However, I have a new best friend, Piecelique by Sharon Schamber.

Now I realize this should also be on my UFO list!
I'll get it done.  You'll keep me honest.

2018 UFO list

So.  It appears I haven't posted since 2013.  I guess blogging was harder than I anticipated.  A lot has happened in the last four years and the only thing I am going to remark on today is that I moved my sewing life into a slightly larger room.  The idea of the move was met with much grumbling from the husband.  He hates change. He says I should be glad of that trait of his, it's the reason we're still married. I admit that I can't fault his logic on that topic.

The main reason for today's completely unexpected post is that I want to join in Patchwork Times 2018 UFO challenge.  I participated in it in 2013 and I actually got quite a few done.  I hung on to the completed quilts for too long so this Christmas I staged the Great Quilt Giveaway.  Almost everyone in my family chose a quilt and I think everyone felt good about it. I know I did.

I'm not at home while I'm writing this so there won't be many (maybe no) pictures.

Here's the list off the top​ of my head and let me tell you, that's a scary place:

We'll, that's my plan for the year. Every month Judy will pull a number and I am to complete that quilt or at the very least make MAJOR progress on it.

Eleanor Roosevelt encouraged us to do one thing everyday that scares you..  I don't know about you but this list scares me.
